Peysonal . Mr. Jim Hayes, who is engaged in a saw-milling project in the Auckland district, was in Shannon on Thursday, when he visited his father, Mr. R. Hayes, Engle's Road. Quite a nuniber of citizens from Shannon and distrioL are at present inmates of- the Palmerston North Hospital." Those who afe reported to b,e :'progressing! favourabiy are Mr. H. Scott, East Road, Mrs. J. Chambers, Mangaore, Mrs. Don Pigott, Mangaore, and Mr. T. Ropoama, Margaret Street. Mrs. G Nepia, Moutoa, who was taken to hospital a few days ago, is stated to be showing a little progress. Mr. Minchen, Mangaore, underwent a minor operation a few days ago and has been able to return to his home. Children Disappointed Many of Shannon's youngsters suffered a disappointment on Thursday afternoon when a Punch and Judy show scheduled to take place in the afternoon had to be cancelled owing to the late arrival of- the travelling company.
