Plans to Re-establish Singapore

Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, June 9. Plans to re-establish Singapore as the principal British naval, military, and air hase in the Far East, is being considered and an announcement will prohahly he made shortly, aecording to the Daily Telegraph's political correspondent. Sueh a decision, he' says, would involve moving the headquarters of the British Pacific Fleet from Hong Kong but there is no question of a British withdrawal from Hong Kong which will remain an important naval station. The aecision to reopen Singapore, he adds, will he on strategic grounds.
