This statement ivas made to the wool and meat section ot Otago Federated Farmers . by Mr. II. J. Wardell, of 'Kurow/ a member of the New Zealand Wool Board. Mr. Wardell said. the. Ministef of Finance (Mr. Nash) should" be 'given some credit for the arrangement of the wool disposal system in New Zettland. It was much ahead of those . operating in Australia 01" So'uth Africa. If there were to be a permanent seheme, groWers would probably eonsider' that they shopld have an equal sliare in the marketing organlsation. ' If they were to take part in such a seheme, howevey, they wouid have to put 'up the moaey to enable it to operate. It had been estimated that about £10,000,000 would liave to be put. up by tlie growers. Mr. Wardell added that when the j work 3f the join,t orgairisation came to I an end the surplus money held would go to the growers. The New Zealanu Wool Board also was-in favour of a perm&nent marketing seheme, although there was no intention of having an account such as the meat account set UP-
