British Films Honoured By Irish Critic
Noel Moran, Dublin's- leading film critic, headed his list with Two Cities' "Odd Man Out" when he selected the 10 best films of 1947. He also inclffded David Lean's "Great Expectations" (which he described as "an enduring tribute to Cineguild and to a perfect cast") , "The Ovei'landers)' "The Upturned Glass," "A Matter of Life and Death," and "Captain Boycott." He considers James Mason the best actor of the year, and includes Mai Zetferling and Valerie Hobson among the best actresses.
