Slanderous Stories About Soviet Union!
TOKIO, June 4. . Beuter's Tokio correspondent says Major-General A. P. Kislenko, acting Soviet member of the Allied Council for Japan, wrote to General MacArthur " this week demanding that measures he taken against "insolent and undisguised" anti-Soviet propaganda in the Japanese-Ameri-can press in Japan as well as against the dissemination in Japan of ' ' slanderous stories ahout the Soviet Union." The letter said the Japanese-Ame-rican press in Japan had recently intensified its propaganda among the Japanese for a new war against the' Soviet. General Kislenko said it was clear that the circulation of many stories advocating a new war and libelling allied Powers, and the reprinting of similar pieces of propaganda hy the Japanese press could not have taken place without the knowledge of G.H.Q. General Sebald, chairman of- tne Allied Council, and General MacArthur 's deputy in Japan, said the 1 matter was under consideration.
