Franklin, United States Deputy Chief of Civil Adminstration and 1'iiitieal Affairs braneh of the Komrmtndatura, as he emerged from a plmtographer 's shop in the centre of Bfilin yesterdav afternoon, says the As.-oriated Press correspondent. High Soviet offieials know Dr. Franklin well. Americans in the vieinitv rep.ortfd the incident to the ITnited States authorities who intervened for Dr. I'ranklin's release, so far withont success.
