Sub-branch Of Otaki R.S.A. Formed At Waikanae
At the recent annual meeting oi the Otaki Returned Services' Association unanimous support was 'accorded a proposal that the rnembers living between the Hapua Stream and the Waikanae River form themselves into a sub- ; branch of the Otaki Association. A jvery well attended meeting at Waikanae has endorsed the proposal. s At the meeting it was explained , that all rnembers would still be : rnembers of the Otaki Association 'and able to attend its meetings and [functions, but that matters coniCerning welfare, rehabilita'tion and social activities would be handlec ilocally, saving a good.deal of t-imr 'and relieving the Otaki officers of much work. There' will be no 'increase in the present subscripition of 7s 6d per year. The followihg ' officers were Jelecte'd: chairman, Mr. P. Bennett; jsecretary, Mr. L. F. Brown; treasurer, Mr. J. Walton; committee .Messrs. H. Parata and Greig (viljlage), Wilson (beach) , and N.- W. Monk and P. Wootton (Reikorangi) . The roll of rnembers of the R.S.A. is being* compiled and wher it is completed a programme oi social events will be arranged. Anr ex-serviceman in need of help or requiring rehabilitation direction is invited to contact rnembers of the committee, who will also appreciate being kept posted of any new arrivals in the 'district.
