Jersey Heifer Show And Sale In Levin
The first annual Horowhenua pe-digree Jersey in-calf heifer show and sale was held at Levin yesterday. There was a fair attendance. Twenty-two heifers, representative of high class studs, faced the judge, Mr. H. J. Lancaster, in the show ring. First prize and the championship award went to "Kimberley Liberty," owned by Mr. L. Griffith, who also gained second with "Kimberley Rillo." Mrs. R. W. ■ Evans was thjrd with "Waikore SWeet Rose." Fourth an'd fifth places went to Messrs. P. R. Catley and L. Griffith respectively. Top price of the sale was 60 guineas, realised by the heifer placed second in the show. The champiop heifer was passed in at 62i guineas. The range of prices was 25, -32-|, 36, 40, 55 to 60 guineas.
