Accident Victim's Condition Improves Slightly
A farmer of Tokomaru, Henry Taylor, married, age'd ab-out 50, who was involved in an " accident at Levin yesterday, was today reported by the Palmerston North Hospital to be still on the seriously ill list but to have shown a slight improvement. The accident, which was reported in a late edition of "The Chronicle," occurred at the Tararua Road railway crossing, just south of the Levin station, at 2.30 p.m. Mr. Taylor was driving from the saleyards with the intention- of crossing the railway iine to the main highway. The cab of the truck was wrecked and the vehicle ipushed over the cattle stop and along the line. A doctor *was on the scene within a few minutes and attended to the injured man. He was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from a frac-' tured left arm and probable compound fracture of the{skull.
