Pei'sonal Mr. and Mrs: J. Stuart, of Bell Street, Otaki, have returned from a holiday in Taihape. Mr. and Mrs. D. Ryder, of Taupo, are the guests of Mrs. V. Tews, Te Rauparaha Stree't, Otaki. Mrs.. Nurse Honoured a pleasani afiernoon was spent recently in the Maori meeiing house at Manakau wntn, ai tne inviiation of ihe Maori women, Discriot Nurse I. Cooper, was entertamed to tea. 'lhose present expifcS-ed their appieciaiion of N urse Cooper's kincmesses to them, following which Mrs. Cook pre^ented her with a ciieque. Nurse Cooper suitably repLed. During the aiternoon, seveial musicai items were rendered and at the conc.ueion the company. joined in smgmg the Maori farewell song. Church After noon Memoers ot tne Paraparaumu Methodist Church Guil'd held a bring-and-buy afternoon recently lat the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Crawford, Hinemoa Street, Paraparaumu. Saies tables were well stocked and brisk business ensued. It was a splendid opportunity for Church members to meet the Rev. land Mrs. Robinson, who have ; recently come to the district as successors to the Rev. and Mrs. H. Wright, who have been transferred to the parish of Halcombe.
