NEW PLYMOUTII, May 30. When investjgations were made following tlie diseovery of a riderless pony in the Hikumutu Valley near Taumarunui pn Saturday, the body of John Charles Pittaips, tbe six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Pittams, was found lying on the road in a pool of blood. He had been talking to sgttlers in tjie district only a few minutes before > and had ridden out of sight of them. How he cgipe by the fatal head injuries he received is not known.
