Manakau W.D.F.F. Celebrates Its Ninth Birthday
The Manakau braneh of the Women's Divlsion Qf Federatea Farmers eelebrated its ninth birthday on Thursday last. There was a large gathering of members and friends from all the neighbouring hvjmphPQ j Miss Ruth Hoggard, of Paraparaumu, rendered two violin solos apd Mrs. Lee, also of paraparaumu, sang a bracket of songs. Mrs. Styies contributed elocut'ionary items, There was a humorous art exhibiTion which evoked much interest. [ After the eake ha.d been cut by ;Mrs. Jenkins, the provineial president, a presentation of a gold peneil was made to Mrs. Guy Martm, who has been the seeretary of the branch for eight years, with the good wishes and thanks of aa members for her long and valueu service.
