WELLINGTON, May 31. Concern is being expressed by some parents at bayonets beins on sale in Wellington shops at two shiilings each. The bayonets, with scabbards, - were surplus Army stqres and were sold by public tender. They are the old type, but in good condition, and the points ar.e still sharp. Comment by parents that the • bayonets shouid not _ be sold unr.sstricted, thus enabling small boys to purchase them, was referred to a police offieer, who said that bayonets did not come un.der the Arms Act. They were not firearms or explosives and, therefore, there was nq control over them.
