Compulsory Training Urged

WELLINGTON, May 20. The question of compulsory universal national service was discussed by a deputation today to the Prime Mmister and other Ministers of the Crown at Parliament House. The deputation comprised representatives of the New Zealand Returned Services Association, the Home Eervicenien's Association, the Ex-Navalmen's Association, and the Air Force Association. Mr. C. O. Bell, Domiuiou president of the N.Z.R..B.A. , said: "We want the Government to approve of the principle of compulsory universal national service including military service, as we t'eel that the defence and protection ot the country is the privilege and duty of everv citizeu vvho is fortunate enough to live in this country." He added that the Prime Minister had assured the deputation that lts representations would be put beiore the Government and Parliament in the coming session.
