WELLINGTON, May 21. The inclement weather that has been experientied during the week has not considerably affected the Foxton coursewhich should be in good winter conditiosn for the Foxton meetirig tomorrow if the weather clears. The majority of the horses engaged were3 seen* out at Otaki last Saturday and the form might pfov§ f airly reliable at Foxton tomorrow. Waikato will conclude its three-day fixture, as also will South Canterbury. The Poverty Bay meeting, postponed last Saturday, will open at Napier Park, while at Hutt Park, the Wellington Trotting Club's single day gathering will conclud* trotting in the North Island for the season.

Tde Foxton Cup has drawn a handy field of jniddle-rdistance runners, most of which had a race at Otaki. At the weights and on form High Order, after a nose defeat at Otaki, is a distinct prospect, and with W. J. Broughbon in the saddle will be oue of the favourites. The Otaki winner Morotai, is carrying her fuli weight, but she can be expected to again fight out the issue. The race Merry Robin had has greatly benefited him and he should improve on his finishing effort of last week. Loyal Bian has form to recommend him, while improving form can be expected from Sheilwyn and Sparkling Lady. There is some good form in the open sprint, the Kebbell Memorial, but the most outstanding is that of Playboy, who, but for being squeezed on the rails a- furlong or so from fhe^finishing po'st might have won the Taipua ' Handicap at Otaki. As the leaders swung into the straight Playboy, on the fence, was squeeZed back, and It was only excellent horsemanship on the part of W. J. Broughton that Playboy forced his way through in the last 20 yards to be a neck an'd a head away third. With a clear run Piayb-oy, who was going the better of the trio at the finish, mignt have won. His prospects tomorrow read 'second to none. Deprive, ridden a better race than last week, is a prospect. Others not out of the question are Petre Mar, General Victory, Moutoa Lord and Bonnie Fair.
