AUCKLAND, .May 20. A blind man was lcilled instantly and another blind man was injured when they were knocked down hy a motor car in Carlton Gore Road about 7.15 tonight. The two blind men, who had been' out for a walk, were on their way back to the Xew Zealand Institute for tlie Blind when the accident occiy'red. The victims were: — Killcd: George Mackav Williamson. Injured: Wiri Bailey, concussion and frietion burns to the legs, condition not serious. Williamson had verv little sight while Bailey was totallv blind. Both men worked in the Blind Institute workshops. They had been at work during the day and had been in for dinner. The matron said the men were probably on their way back to the Institute for the weekly dance when the accident happened. Xeither the police nor St. John Ambulance found ,anv whit-e walking sticks normallv carried by blind persons, at the scene of the accident. Williamson "anie to the Institnte about six weeks ago from Dunedin to learn a trade. Bailey had been living at the Institute since he was a cliild. It was rain ing heavily at the time of the accident. v
