Moutoa Pony Club's Rally
— w Glorious sunshine and ideal grounds helped to make the Moutoa Pony Club's competition rally last Sa'turday a very successful one. Trophies and prize money brought keen competition in the various events. It was pleasing to see two oi the youngest riders, Bevin Newth and Graham Jellyman, succeSsful in the open and maiden jumps. The bridle donated by Mrs. J.- Ne^rth for the best cared for gear and pony was won by Ron Bang, and the spurs donated by Mr. McMillan for the open pony jump went to Bevin Newth. A special priz* for the mo'st patient and persevering rider of an unruly pony was won by Miss Kay Collins. At a suitable juncture the judge, Lfr. J. Cameron, of Oroua Downs, presented the trophies and congratulated the officials on the way in which the meeting was conducted, and the winners and members on the manner in which they had cared for their gear. He concluded by 'saying that the Moutoa POny Club, for the short. time it had been in existence, was a credit to all concerned. Williams) : nine-12 years, David Barber; 13-16 years, Barry Lucinsky; 17-20 years, Paul McErlean. ■IPotato and bucket race (Stewards, J. Matthews and A. Collins) : nine-12 years, John Peterson; 13j 16 years, J. Barber; 17-20 years, B. O. Barber. Trotting race (Stewards, L. Carter and J. Newth) : Shetland class, Mary Podjursky; nine-12 years, B. Newth. Shetland" trot 13-16 years, M. Newth; 17-20 years, R. Bang. .Best boy rider: nine-12 years, B. Newth; 13-16 years: A. Podjursky; 17-20 years, B. O. Barber. Best girl rider: nine-12 years, Louise Barber; 13-16 years, Leonie Carter. Musical chairs (Stewards, C. McCarthy .and J. McMillan) : nine12 years, B. Newth; 13-16 years, A. Podjursky; 17-20 years, P. McBrlean. ■ ; Maiden pony jump (Stewards, S. W. Barber and W. Smith; judge, J. Cameron) : Graham Jellyman 1, Ron Bang 2. Open pony jump: Bevin Newth 1, Graham Jellyman 2.
