Horowhenua Hockey
The newly-formed Textile Club from Foxton played its first game in the Horowhenua hockey competition on Saturday. Levin Ladies, after weeks of play, have 'obtained that combination neces.sary for success, and they provea jtoo strong for Textiles A, beating jthem by 10 goals to nil. Mrs. Henderson scored si-x goals, Mrs. I. iTyree three an'd Mrs. Gardiner one. I The Levin Men's A team travjelled to Te Horo to again suffer jdefeat, Te Horo winning by five , goals to nil. j Another interesting game was ! played at the Levin Farm over the j weekend for the entertainment or jthe inmates. The veteran players ' of 15 years ago formed themselves into a team and challenged Levin. ;It was a fast. game throughout, the veterans proving the value of good ipositional play and winning the ■ match by two goals to nil. The fixtures for Saturday next, ^gether with their venue an'd jstarting times, are as follows: — I Ladies: Textiles A v. Textiles B, at Foxton, 9' a.m.; Raukawa v. Rahui, at Otaki, 1.45 p.m..; Levin v. College at Levin (practice game) ; Raukawa B, a bye. Men: Levin B v. Te Horo, at Levin, 2 p.m.; Levin A v. Rahui, at Otaki, 3 p.m.; Raukawa, a bye.
