Doniinion-wide reaetion against Coramunist inliltration into key positions of trade unionS is leading to a showdown in the Auckland oranch of the New Zealand Carpt'ntors ' and Joiners' l nion which represeuts oue oi' th.e most iniportant groups of workers in the Doniiniou. Arising from dissatisfaction with the recent go-slow strike, a group of members has foriued an action committec to cauipaign for a cliange of officials at the annual elections in Septemher. Withiu- a few days the committee's organisers will visit build j ing jobs, enlisting the support of earl penters. It is understood siinilar cam- ' paigns are likely throughout the Dominion.
