The controller advised that arrangements .had now been made for 6b0 tohs of cemeftt tp be discharged at Wanganui on Tuesday, of which 200 tons would be Supplied to Wangahui and Martpii, 300 tons to Palmerston North, 70 tons to Feilding ahd 30 tons to Leyin. . • An additionai shipment due irito Wellington this week, said the cqntroEer, Would mean the allocation pf further quantities as follows: — Palmer'stoh North, 100 tons; Feilding, 20 tons; Levin 20 tons. The above re.port, when referred to some local builders and cement users, was greeted with considerable satisfaction. "It shows that Somethjng is being done," said the mdnager of Permac Concrete Produ'cts, Ltd., Mr. J. Perigo, though he pointed out that he did not know how much of the allocation he would receive. "I could use it all, myself- in a week," he said. Mr. Perigo added that sincs the, teport of the position existing in his works appeared in "The Chronicle" last week, he had received a ietter from Mr. J. J. Maher, M.P., who is arranging for 'him to mfeet thfe Minister in charge of cement distribution so that the position could be put personally to him.
