Shooting Starts As Soon As British Leave
Received Saturday, 8 a.m. LONDON, May 15. The British Mandate ends in two houfs time. Righting has already broken out in Jerusalem. In Tel Aviv, air raid precautions are being taken. Heavy shooting broke out in Jerusalem as soon as the High Commissioner, Air Alan Cunningham, and a large body of troops left., The air was filled with the noise of machine-gun fire. The Arabs have reaffirmed their intention of maf chiilg against the Jews.
