WELLINGTON, May 12. The Wellington City Council estinn. ates to spend £46,650 on the Royal visit next year. The Mayor, Mr. Will Appletou, announced "this tonight. Included is a fireworks display for which £2000 is estimated. A suinmary of the estimated costs - given bv Mr. Apploton and approved by the Council is: — City engineers' department • £26,500 (street decorations £12,0(10, painjtmg trathc office £1000, painting Town. Hau £4500, provision of feature opposite.. Town Hall £500, renovating Centeriniai lookout £200, illuminated fountain on suitable land loeation £3000, stands and similar accommodatioil £5000, special street cleaning £300 y. - - Traffie department £400 ( ropes, sxgns and equipnient £20/), additional inspectors and labour£200). Town Hall: Interior decorations ;(nqt. including ball or children ;s gathering,) £(000. v Reserves department: £11,520. Electricity department (street anct floodlighting) : £5,500.
