Personal Mrs. U. Tews has recently returned from a vacation in New Plymouth. Miss Rae Pothan of Otaki has left to spend a holiday with friends in Napier. Mr. and Mrs. H. Fitzgibbon, who have been the guests of Mrs. P. Harper, "Strathfield," have returned to their home in Rotorua. Mr. and Mrs. L. Goodwin have i left Otaki to make their home ini Woodville. Mr. Goodwin has been transferred to that branch of the Bank of New Zealand. Mrs. A. B. Boyd and Mrs. L. C. Hull, " Bell Street, Otaki, have returned from a holiday in Christchurch. At the meeting of the Otaki Borough Council last night, the Mayor, Mr. C. F. Atmore, referred to the recent death of Mr. H. M. J. Nicolson who he said, as represen'tative of the "Otaki Mad" and "The Chronicle," had reported the council meetings for many years. He had attended to his duties conscientiously and efficiently. Councillors stood in silence after passing a motion of sympathy with his relatives. Marching Team's Activities The Bandoliers marching team \vill hold a dance in the Raukawa Hall on Friday, May 28, and a good time is assured all who attend. The committee' met recently and it was agreed to solicit further names of girls desirous of forming a team, Mr. Fearnley and the leaders of the team having agreed to coach any who come for ward, until such- time as further coaches are secured. Girls desirous of taking part are a'sked to contact Mrs. Wilkinson, Mr. Fearnley or any members of the team.
