WELLINGTON, May 6. The Government on the reeommendation of an advisory committee, aas made further grants from the State literary fund, the Minister of Internai Affairs, Mr. Parry, announced today grants are: — . To H. H. Tombs, Wellington, a subsidy of ' £100 for the publieation of F. Hutehinson's "Omatua's fireside." To A. H. and A. W. Reed, Wellington, subsidy of £100 towards the ^publieation of Miss Irvine Smith's ' ■ The Streets of IMy City. ' ' To Paul 's Book Arcade, Hamilton, subsidy of £35 in addition to £150 al'■eady approved towards reprinting John JMulgan's "Man Alone." (Irant of £50 travelling expenses to Will Lawson, of Sydney, to enablc him to eomplete his West Coast novel m New Zealand. Grant of £25 to Eric Ramsden tor typing costs, ete., in conneetion witli his "History of the Rangiatea Maori Church at Otaki." Subsidy of £100 for A. H. and-A. Vv. Reed, for the publieation of the poems of Professor Arnolcl Wall. •Subsidy of £300 to the Gaxton Press, Christchurch, for reprinting in oue volume of M. H. Holeroft's three long essays already published in separate forms over a period of years.
