A11 assurance that legislation vviil be introduced in the next Parliamentary session to i>rovide that gifts 'to the( United* Nations' appeal for children will be exempt from gift duty has been ,given-by the Ministef of Finance (Mr. Nash) in a letter to Mr. S. C. Falconer, the chairman of 'the New Zealand executive committee for the appeal. Answering the. inquiry by Mr. • Falconer, Mr. Nash said there was at preaent 110 provision for exempting donations from gift duty-.
