Those present stood in siience as a tribute to his memory. Reporting on the schooi activities, Mr. L. G. Gimblett said that the committee had brought before the Wellington Education Board the several improvements necessary at the schooi. These had been the matter of improved accomm'odation, new swimming baths, the playing area, dental clinic, stait room accommodation, resurfacing of asphalt and the erection of I boundary fences. Some measure of success had been obtained m that three new class rooms were shortiy to be erected. Slior.tage of materials had lield up these works, but it was hoped to have extra flfipnmmndation soon. The COhl-
mittee had obtained the services of a fuil-time caretaker whos.e work; both insi'de and outside ; ibhe schooi, reflected great credit up'dn him. It placed on record its appreeiation .of the efficiency of 'the headmaster, Mr. J. E. James, and the staff, with whom most. cordial. relations exfsted. Thanks were. extended to Drs. F. A. H. Neate and E. G. Atmore, Sister Cooper, the teachers of religious instruction, Miss Morgan, Mr. Dakin, Revs. Paora Temuera, W, H. Nicholas, R. Grice an'd Canon H. E. K. Fry, who with others assisted throughout. the year. The treasurer, Mr. W. Wilson, presented the financial statement, which he explained in detail, and which showed a ' substantial credit. The jiurchase ' of a large supply of fuel would not recur for some time, he said.
