Pamir Gets Flying Start For N.Z.
LONDON, May 2. The New Zealand bargue Pamir has left Antwerp for New Zealand with a cargo of 1200 tons of cement and 1500 tons of basic slag. Captain Collier said he eypacfed to reach Auckland by August 8. Holiday-makei's at Dover saw the Pamir unfurl her sails and pass the Btraits of Dover after a tug had taken her past the Goodwin Sands. . Cross Oljannel aireraft, ineluding a foureugined airliner altei'pd their course and circled her in a farewell salute as, with a strong following wii^d, she got under way to a flying start on the 12,000-mile laul to New Zealand.
