AUCKLAND, April 30.Tlie steam -generating plant at Huntlywith a capacity of 1500 kilowatts is to be sold .by the Stdte Hydro-Electric Department to the State Coal Mines Department foh transfer to Stockton in the South Island. In spite of its situation on one of the main coalfields of the Dominion there has not been enough coal availa!ble to run this plant reeently in addition to the King's Wharf. and Evan's Bay steam stations. The general manager of the Stat'c Hydro-Electric Department (Mr. A. E. Davenport) gave an assurance today that the transfer of this phtnt under present circumstances would in no way prejudice the North Island power supply.
