All American Peace Pact Signed
Received Fridav, 7.15 p.m. BOGOTA, April 29. The Pan- American Conference is eiiding to-morrow with the signing of a pact creating the Organisation ot American States which is the new name for the LS-veai'-old Pan-American Union. The charter for the new bodv proclaims th.e legal equality of all American States and their equal rights anu duties, and tlie fundamental rights ot man without distinction of race, natiortalitv, creed, or sex. All the States bind themkelves to settle any controversv bv peaceful means with the I11tteniational Court of Justice as the lipal arbiter. ,Tlie new orgaifisation 's structure is. similar to the United Nations with an' exeeutive couneil whereon each nation will be represented , to carry ont the decisions reaehed by inter-American eonference. The nations are also signing to-mor-row a series of agreements and resoiutions ineluding a pact for basie economic co-operation and a resohition condemninjr Communism and all .forms of totalitarianism.
