Thompson, S.M., a member of the Otaki Licensing Committee. Residents of Featherston and listrict, at a recent meeting, honoured Dr. and Mrs. G. S. Sharp, former residents of Otaki, on the □ccasion of Dr. Sharp's retirement. Tribute was paid to Br. Sharp by Mr. F. W. Smith, on behalf of town residents, and Mr. C. J. Nix for country residents, while a presentation • was made to Dr. and Mrs. Sharp by the Mayor, Mr. F. White. Dr. Sharp is proceeding to England as one of the delegates from the New Zeaiand branch of the British Medical Association, and he will attend the annual conference in London next Jime. • i i Memorial Concert The concert being arranged for the Maori memorial is assuming definite shape and leading artists have been . engaged for the occasion. Among the number will be members of the . Tin Hat* Club including Mr. A. Elston, Mr. G. D Dean, Mr. A. Tinan and Mr Henare Tahiwi, who is well-knowr to Otaki audiences. | Australians' Visit IShe Australian ex-servicemer are due, here at 5 p.m. on Mondaj but the Maori and R.S.A. reception will not take place till 8 p.m.
