Athletic Start Season With Social And Dance
The Athletic Football Clnb marked the opening of the rugbj as'-n wit,n « sociai and dance in the Druids'. Hall, Levin, on Wednesday night at which were present a I'uU muster of supporters and friends of the club, together with many from other district teams Also present was Mr. H. Rippen president of the club. With Mrs. H. Campbell at the piano, dancing was contmued tii) midnight, interspersed with competitions conducted in a most competent manner by the M.C., Mr. D. G. Colliei'. The friendly atmosphere, tyjpical of the' Athletic Club's gathenngs, prevailed throughout the evening and an excellent supper was provided by the social committee of the club comprising, Mesdames F. N. Fletcher, H. Rippen and Mercer, and Miss N. Fletcher. Competitions were won by Miss M. Brash and Mr. Cliff Wilson and Mrs. I. Brash and partner. Thrdughout the season the club will present further socials once a month.
