WELLINGTON, This Day. A heavy programme of racing and trotting is scheduled for tomorrow with the conciusion of the Hawke's Bay fixture and the Manawaru trots, opening of the Forbury Park trots and the single day' meetings of Waverley, Te Aroha and South Canterbury Clubs._ The rain during the week has been general and all the courses on which meetings are being held tomorrow have had their fair share. However, if the weather remains settled the going at Hastings and Awapuni should be improved. Waverley opens the steeplechase season in the Wellington district.
As ther.e are a number of fresh horses engaged ^at the Hawke's Bay meeting form on the first day might not prove too reliable. However, form is likely to work out fairly successful at the Manawatu .trots. - ; ; • Welcome Guest has come into strong favour for the Te Mahana Handicap at Hastings, with solid support for Barrage, Swift Quarry, The Denbigh' and Second Seal. Atomic reads like having good prospects at Waverley, Maid of Sherwood at Te Aroha, and Culture and Josedale Direct at Awapuni trots. Prospects for the meetings are:
