Approval has heen given for the issue/ of additional import licences to ohtain from the United States certain typeg of fann tractors which are not availahle irom the United Kingdom at present, * This was announeed tonight by the Minister of Customs, Mr, Nash, who said that as a result of representations made by farmers, importers and the Aid for Britain national council, and in consultation with the departmeiits concerned. 'the whole question of the importation of farm tractors* had heen reviewed particularly in rer gard to the Aid for Britain campaign for an incroased wheat acreage. Ap^ proval had heen given subject to the undertaking that farmers who had ordered tractors through importers, would utilise the tractors on arrivaj for ploughing up ground for the growing of cereals and particularly wheat growing.
