Dominion Starts Radio War With Australia

A special sub-committee of Cabine* has been conferring in Canberra thit week with experts, to devise methods o," overeonfing the threat to Australian radio from „-a decision bv the New Zealand Government to allow Ne^ Zealand stations to increase tlieir' power. Experts have reported to the Government that when the power oi New Zealand stations is increased. many Australian stations were in danger of having their broadcasts jambed. The matter was discussed by repre centative's of the Australian and New Zealand Governments and an agreement was reached that the Australian Government would be notified well in advanct of the implementation of the New Zea land plan. ' Australian teehnicians have now prepared a report for Cabinet recommenfling that in cases where there Is the possibility of Australian stations being jambed, they should be permitted to increase their power to drown out the New Zealand station.
