. , ,-. i — j There were .exoellent yardmgs. of fat sheep, eattle- and dairy cows at the Levin sale yesterday, when values showed marked increases on the rulings of previous weeks. The fat pig yardihg on the other hand was smaller than usua! and good quality porkers, especially butehers' weights, commanded keen eompetition. The sheep yarding was the hest for many weeks, good quality wethers selling- to. 47 s 7d. Ewes, althougl} lighter in numbers than , the wethers, divd not show the sa-me inerease in values but,- nevertheless, sold well at up to 33s Id. Good black faced two-too.ths came forward and realised from 39s 7d ! to 41s Id. Some exeellent pens of j primis black faced shorn lambs ! ma'de well over schedule rates. The ! store sheep, although fewer were j fcenned, met with readier competi- j tion than of late, no do.ubt due to. the recent raiits. In the fat cattle secti'on there was again a preponderance of vealers, with. in and out competitiom. Some lines made more than their values while other exeellent lots sold below par. The fat cows and heifers were generallv light

and unfinished right through an'd whereas the values realised appear lighter than recent rates. they were well' up to market price. Some light to- unfinished runners scld well under the hanimer. The dairy yarding was heavier than usual and again, owing to the rain, prices showed a marked improvement on last week. A smalier store cattle and boner yarding met with ihcreased competition and- values for these were well y.p to vendors' expeetations.
