Anzac Day Arrangements
The Shannon branch of the Returned Services Association has made arrangements for the usual Anzac para'de to take place on Sunday (Anzac Day). Invitations are extended to all returned personnel, which include the members of the R.S.A., South African War Veterans' Association, 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association and the Australian organisations, the R.S.S. and A.I.L.A., and all other returned service personnel, including J-Force. The Home Services' Association and other organisations are also invit> ed to take part in the parade, which will assemble at the school at 10.15 a.m. and will mareh to the cenotaph at 10.30 a.m. At 10.40 a.in. the laying of wreaths will take place at the cenotaph and the "Last Post" will be sounded. The memorial service will be held in the Renown Tlieatre at 11 a.m., when the address will be given by Rev. Wheeler. Other speakers will include the Mayor (Mr. D. A. Fitzgerald), who will' speak on behalf of the citizens, and Mr. B. Clayton, president of the R.S.A. A collection will be taken at the theatre, and this will go towards the R.S.A. food for Britaln fund. Following the service, all returned personnel will parade. at the Druids' Hall to attend the annual Anzac dinner given to them by the members of the Shannon Women's Institute.
