Mists Hinder Motorists
Heavy mists have been expenenced along almost the full length :of ihe Eas't Coast of the South Island and round Wellington- ovfer the past few days. • The mists extended as far .south as Otago, Mt fbr persistency the fogs in the Wel•lingtbh ar.ea have been the worst. Motorists have encountered , eixtremely thick mists on the highfer l'evel roads-, mak-ing progress diffi-' cult. On the liill up to Johnsonville a trafftc inspector was postbd to 'direct traffi'c, and motorists were instrueted to dip 'their headlights.
