WELLINGTON, April 14/ The Nalal Bporting Club, Durbafi, has sent a cablegram to Don Mullett, the New Zealand heavvweight boxing chainpion: " Understand you are intef(,'sted in fighting in South. Afriea. We wish iirst option on your Bexvieess Keply stating terms. " The cablegram was passed on to Mullett 's father, wlio said, that Mullet was expected to arrivet in Wellington from Palmerston- North this af'ternoon. Thougli Mullett was beaten on pomts by 1). >Sands, the Australian triple champion, at Petone on Saturday night, he proved to be nruch harder to beat tlian eithei; Sands or the latter's manager (Mr. T. Maguire) anticip'atecb This was eonlirmed by Mr. Maguire, who said that Sands reallv htid to work to win, and added that there was only one thing let't for Mullett to do and that was to go to South Afriea. There was nothing for Mullett in New, Zealand uor in Australia where Sands had beaten all the available heavyweights. Despite the defeats which Mullett suffered against J. Johnston, Mr. Maguire does not think there is a lieavyweight in Australia who could stand up to Mullett in the latter's present form. lf Mullett deeides to go to South Afriea he will probabJv discuss with Mr\ /Maguire the terms he should ask. Mr. Maguire said today that the Australian lieavyweight, A".
