Fine of £300 For False Income Returns
WAIPUKURAU, April 15. Fmes totalling £300 were imposed on Gerald Ernest Wilson, a farmer who pleaded guilty before Mr. L. G Siftclair, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court, Waipawa, to four charges of wilfully furnishing false returns of income. , The Crown Prosecutor said that ciefendant returned false returns jver six years, but only four from 1943 to 1946 were subjected to the prosecution. Over this period the aggregate income returned was diort oy £5369, while the deficiency of income tax without taking into consideration social security and national security tax amounted tc £3623.
