Parcel Post Offer Declined The Government has vetoed a scheme to include New Zealand in the countries which will be linked by an air parcel post service between the United States and parts of the Pacific, in spite of the 33 to 50 per cent. saving promised by the American Post Office. The present Dominion-United States airmail rate is high — 2/- per £-oz — but New Zealanders have to pay this or use irregular surface mails or the PamAmerican Airways air express, which charged 13/- per lb. with a minimum of £1/11/3.
