Monthly Meeting of Ihakara Women's Institute
The April meeting of the Ihakara Women's Institute was held reeentxy, Mrs, Butt presiding. Letters of appreciation Were fead from the institute's link, acknowle'dging gift parcels forwarded. Mrs. Butt volunteered to act as link correspondent in succession' to Mrs. Armstrong, who lias relinduished ■ the- position. Mesdames Butt and Brooks were appointed delegates to the council meeting at Tawa Flat. The afternoon was a soeial ahe, .the " main feature being ■ ' an exchang'e of ideas, ' this bringing 4prth spme llovelties. vWinnens of ■Isbmpetitions were Miss Hall and Mesdames McLean and Lancaster. A bring-and-buv table experisnce'd brisk business under the guidance of 'Mesdames Turner and Doyle. The winne'rs of the variotts cOmpetitions were: — Points: Mrs. Armstrong 1, Mrs. Trotter 2, Mrs. Wilmshurst 3. Dessert apples: Mrs. Wilmshurst 1, Mrs. Haslock 2, Mrs. Mark '3. Cooking apples: Mrs. Wilmshurst 1, Mrs. Mark 2, Mrs. Hudson 3. Flower: Mrs. Brooks 1, Mesdames Haslock and Wilmshurst 2 (equal) / Mrs. Armstrong 3, Shrub: Mrs. Wilmshurst 1, Mrs. Taylor 2, Mrs. Hall 3.
