Golf Season Started With Medal Round

The 1948 golf season was given a good start on Saturday, When a medal round was played Over the new links at Cheslyn RiSe.- The handicap committee had checked and re-allocated handic'aps to mcrnbers on the basis of all medal rounds played last year. Some excellent scores were retUrned on Saturday, the best being that of, H. D. Richards^ with a 66 net. No less than 11 players did better thah the par score and it appears that there will be some adjustment of handicaps, op these flgures. These will be niade later in the week, and will be placed on the notice hoard in the clubhouse. Saturday afternoon saw some excellent golfing weather, the sun being obscured most of the afternoon. The c'ourse was in fairly good order, although the greens were VCry fast and tricky. A week's
