Mr. and Mrs.* Guthrie, late of Te Horo,- are at present oii a .bnef visit to Otaki. , • ' Mrs. 'F F. Nic'olsdn . and her little daughter, who have been on holiday in Otaki, have .returned to Trentham: Mrs. Temuera is at present in the South Island on account of a bereavement, while the Rev. Paora Temuera is in the north attending Synod. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Ferguson, who have been on a motor tour of the north, recently paid a visit to Rotorua, Tauranga and Waihi, and now intend to visit Auckland before returning to Otaki, The funeral of the late Mr. William .Henry ' Cootes took place on Saturday, leaving the residence for the Otaki Maori Cemetbry, where the interment .took place. -There was' a represeritative following, while a 1'arge number of beautiful wreaths were placed on the casket. At the Rangiatea Church Canon H. E. K. Fry conducted an impressive ceremohy, and also officiated at the gravesi-de. Hymns appropriate to the occasion were rendered, Miss Barbara" Swabey being at ■ the organ. Among those present were a number of returned soldiers of the two wars, the late Mr. Cootes being a South African veteran. At the conclusion of the service Mr. Pat Ferguson sounded "The Last Post." Marchinsr Disulay !• 'The Otaki marching team, "The Bandoliers," which ha§ made such rapid progress of recent- date, were seen in a display at the 'domain on Sunday afternoon, when there was -an enthusiastic number present, The Otaki- Band was in attendance- and contributed to the after'noon's enjoyment. • . • . | Win. for Otaki Bowlers !
