Reeeived Monday, 9J>0 a.m. JERUSALEM, April 11. An International Red Cross representative, M. Jacques De Reynier, after a visit to Deir Yassim village, where the Stern Gang aiia Irgtm Zvai Leumi 011 April § massacred 254 Arab men, women and children", stated that abolit 150 bodies had been dumped in a disused well, but could not be removed as was .originally intehded because'of iiring. M. Reynier added that about 50 bodies stre\Vn round the village would also be placed in the well, which would be sealed. Dr. Hussein Khalidi, secretary of theo Arab Higher Committee, quoting M. Reynier, said the bodies were mutilated, ineluding those of 25 pregnant women, 52 mothers with babies and also 60 girls. Dr. Khalidi called the Deir Yassim affair the -"Massacre of Innocents." He accused the Jews living around Deir Yassim of violating the mutual non-molestation agreement, and* the Palestine Governrnent and British Army adthorities of indifference. The Jewish Agency, expressing "horror and disgust" at the Deir Yassim massacre, appealed to the Arabs and Jews to conduct the present conflict ''according to the rules of civilised warfare/' and observe „he rights of the civilian population.
