Otaki Football Club's Meeting
The weekiy meeting of the Otaki Football Club was held on Thursday night, the president; Mr. R. Jones, occupying the clfair. It was decided to nominate Mr. George Engel as senior selector and Mr. Les. Smith for the junior J grade. ' ] The qnestioh of amalgamation of i the Rahui and Otaki Clubs was - briefly considered,- and the hope was expressed that an amicable arrangement w'ould be arrived at. It had been suggested that if the clubs combined, the new club be known as Rahui-Otaki, or United, and that Messrs. Watts and Moffatt (Rahui) be elected on the Horowhenua Union .committee, Messrs. Jones an'd Cook to represent the Otaki Club. However, this is a matter that will be discussed at a general meeting of. the two clubs tonight. Mr. George Gray consented to act as coach for the forward division of the Otaki Club, while Mr. Fred Winterburn was suggested as club captain. • It was agreed that a junior team ! be formedqit being considdred thatj a strong combinajtici- coui'd be j secured. .Arrangements are to be i made with bus proprietors for the| conveyance of teams throughout j the season. !
