Engineers' Attitude On Mangakino Tribunal
WELLINGTON, April 9. In a statenient this afternooii tlie Professional Engineers' Association said its attitude towards the Mangakino tribunal was that it was to settle a difference between the Government as omployer aiul the union." In the national interest, and with a realisation that women and children at Mangakino wero suffering hardship, the engineers did not object to the temporary reinstatement of . the union branch secretary during the pitting of the tribunal.. The N.Z. Workers' Union representative on the Mangakino tribunal will be Mr. W. P. Kelleher, of Auckland. Announcing this. last night the .Minister of Labour (Ilon. A. McLagan) said that to meet the cpnvenience of both parties the hearing of the dispute had been put baek to Monday, April 19. The nnion had asked for more time to prepare its case and the Government had met its, wishes. Work at Mangakino would resume on Monday. i
