The Wilkinj' Inquest The inquest on Francis Roy Wilkins will be held in the Magis- I trates' Court, -Wellington, next! Thursday, Soartin'g at 10 a.m. The} hearing will come exactly 51 _yveeks j after Wilkins met his death on j the night of April 22 last year. Wilkins' body \yas found on the Evans Bay foreshore on April 23. He had been shot and clubbed. The inquest will probably last more than one day. Shooting Season Approaches The shooting season will open on Saturday, May 1.* Water fowl may be shot from May 1 to May 23, inclusive, and imported game from May 1 to July 31, inclusive. Therel\as been some confusion about the opening date of the season because of a recommendation from the Acclimatisatidn Society to the Minister of Internal Aifairs that the season should not be opened till the first Saturday in June. The Minister, however, did not adopt the recommendation, but adliered to the usual practice of declaring the season open ;in May. Licences for the season are on sale now.
