The excellent attehdahbe of the public .of Shannon and district, enthusiasti'c support of the parents and children aiid. much hard "work on'the part of the school committee and teaching staff, combined with favourable weather to make the school fair. held in the school grounds last Friday, an unqualified success. The gross takings exceeded £125. For some time the children had been saving their pocket money, and their spending contrib.uted consider^bly towards the day's receipts. The most popular stall with the young folk was that supplying ice creams and soft drinks, at which 27 dozen of the latter were sold. The stall which proved the most profitable duriner the day was that selling produce, while 'the jumble stall also proved popular and profitable. The team rooms were tastefully arranged and decorated by the senior girls who also acted as very efficient and courteous waitresses.
