A Mother's Right
Petitioner in a divorce case heard in the Auckland Supreme Court yesterday sai.d she 'did not like the name het husband had given their child. By paying 2s 6d at the Reg'istry Offlce she had beeh * able to have the name changed from Opa to Carol Ann, without consulting her husband, she told Mr. Justice Callan. His Honour then asked if -.it was possible for the husband to have the name changed again. Coimsel for the petitioner said he mnderstood that children's names could be changed within e certain number of days after birth and that it was the mother's right 4x> "name the child.
