(From "Chronicle" Correspondent) The weekly card evenings- in the Ohau School each Wednesday are continuing to- prove pbpular and the schcol funds are benefiting in. conseguence. Over 40 were, present last week and, prizes were kindly don.ated by Messrs. W. Mudge, Sen'r., and E. Findsen. They were won by Mrs. Crowe (ladies) and Mr. F. Haley (men) . One of the most successful dances held at Ohau for some time was that conducted by the Kuku Cricket Club On Easter Saturday night. The large Ohau Hall was backed and excellent music by a prOfessional orchestra was an Inspiration to the dancers. The Tupper arrangements were in the capable hands of Mesdames S. C. Saint, J. Burnell, H. Murray. E. Pilgrim, S. Aanensen and J, Hogg. Mr. lan Horn capably carried out the duties of master of ceremonies. A team of the newly-formed Kuku Cricket Club visited Otaki during the weekend to play- , a Hautere team on the Otaki Domain. Although Kuku were 'defea.ted by a narrow margin,, some sparkling cricket was turned: on. by both teams. The highlight. of the game was lan Horn's knock, as'a result of which he contributed 56 runs to Kuku's Jotal.
